Pepperdine’s Classical Guitar program, under the direction of world renowned guitarist Christopher Parkening, offers students a rare chance to cultivate artistry through beauty, warmth, and lyricism. Each semester, guitar students benefit from private lessons and masterclasses with Parkening, and perform in the monthly Guitar Concert Series as well as outreach concerts in the community. Students also gain valuable experience through recording sessions with professional artists, chamber ensemble opportunities, and a nurturing studio environment that encourages both individual growth and collaboration.
Aspiring musicians—whether lifelong guitar enthusiasts or dedicated performers—find at Pepperdine a place to learn, express, and flourish. With your support, we can expand scholarships, guest artist programs, recordings, and outreach initiatives that empower students to become expressive, confident artists who enrich campus life and carry their music into the world For more information about Christopher Parkening go here.
