Patricia and David Gibson Scholarship

While the Liberal Arts are contracting nationally, the current faculty has designs to put Pepperdine on the map as a destination for Philosophy at the undergraduate level. They intend to do this by hosting symposiums, maintaining compelling programming in the classroom & helping to increase financial assistance for their students through facilitating alumni support!

Why Donate?

Equally important to his work in the classroom, David also began supporting the program philanthropically by giving his own resources to help pay the tuition for a deserving Philosophy student. He has been undergoing this effort for decades, and now our intention is to formalize this kind of support through an endowed fund.

Established through generous gifts from his former pupils as well as Dr. Gibson’s personal blessing, the Pepperdine Advancement team is pleased to announce the Patricia & David Gibson Philosophy Scholarship to carry on this incredible work for the study of wisdom here at the university!
